Throughout 2019, ConsenSys Grants plan to give away $550,000 worth of grants dispersed in amounts of $10,000 and $25,000 via GitCoin

About ConsenSys Grants

Joe Lubin announced at Devcon IV how he wanted to build a killer ecosystem and that, “A decentralized future is one worth imaging and investing in.” We created the ConsenSys Grants program as a part of the vision to assist in building that killer ecosystem.

Why is ConsenSys offering these Grants?

We offer grants to build a thriving Ethereum ecosystem. We have also identified areas that need funding, and the ConsenSys Grants program has allowed us to do that.

How does it work?

ConsenSys Grants funds open-source projects that benefit the greater Ethereum ecosystem. We support projects in critical areas like core infrastructure, improved developer tooling and UX, security, and access to knowledge for developers, users, and social impact.

Throughout 2019, ConsenSys Grants plan to give away $550,000 worth of grants dispersed in amounts of $10,000 and $25,000 via GitCoin. We have already distributed $150,000. Check out some of the winners from Wave I!

We’re coming to the end of Wave II which is closing tomorrow, Sept 10th. The ConsenSys Grants waves will work on a rolling basis, so any applications submitted after the 10th will be included in Wave III. Hipsters, Hackers, and Hustlers are all welcome to apply for ConsenSys Grants.

What is the skill level needed to apply?
If you do not have a technical background, we recommend that you first attend a hackathon — either virtual or in-person to pitch your idea and get a developer on board to help you build out your project. Check out some of the upcoming events we are supporting, or find a blockchain hackathon in your area.
